BATTS December-08 Bulletin
The first chance to see the newly refurbished BATTS
is on Sunday 4th January !!
The planned programme will provide lots of information on running
the club and developing the club. If you would like to be involved
as a volunteer or just want to have your say in the future in how
the club is run, this would be a really good session to come along
to. It also includes a superb buffet lunch !

BATTS November-08 Bulletin
Neil Brierley reports on BATTS progress
Work on the centre started 6 weeks ago (it does seem a lot longer
than that ! ) and is progressing well. The finish date is projected
to be December 26th though it seems unlikely much will happen on
that day ! We are pretty confident however that we will be open
for Friday club night on 2nd January.

BATTS October-08 Bulletin
I know we haven't quite reached October but lots of news around
for the coming month. The big item is that work finally starts on
Monday October 6th (at last !!) to completely renovate the centre
and is due to finish on December 19th. You will notice a huge improvement
but it does mean sadly we will be completely shut between these
dates.

Hong Ming Zhang Zaps Jiang Chang Hong
Hong Ming Zhang Zaps Jiang Chang Hong
In perhaps the best super league final I have witnessed, the speed
of Hong Ming Zhang whizzing loops past Jiang Chang Hong faster than
a laser beam. This was exceptional and a very impressed crowd enjoyed
what has to be the best mid-week table tennis anywhere in the UK.
Surely, you would think the presence of Hong and Jiang would encourage
England's better players to come down and challenge the Progress
starlets.

Neil Brierley writes:
"A scintillating night of Table Tennis at the BATTS Club in
early December surpassed all previous meetings in terms of the sheer

superb Chinese players, plus the elegant and unassuming Ryan Jenkins

unfortunate but certainly avoidable reasons, the draw did not emerge

Poland Dominates Harlow Super League
That sporting and popular figure Filip Szymanski is still the only
winner of a Superleague title this season ,having taken his second
title with a minimum amount of fuss. Only Lorestas Trumpauskas in
the final was able to take a game from him It's frightening to think
how much our Polish visitor has in hand because he seems able to
produce a winning shot in almost any situation.
