BATTS-Harlow

13th January-09
BATTS Mid-January-09 Bulletin

BATTS has now been open for 10 days but it feels a lot longer and the centre is really busy. I'll make this a brief newsletter with just 2 big events to highlight.

This Sunday 18th January, we host the British League Premier Division. The top 8 teams in the country compete for £6000 of prize money with an assortment of national and international stars. Our own BATTS Team Peniel currently lie third and the quality of play on Sunday will be as good it gets in Britain. We're open from 9am with the competition starting at 11 am and finishing around 5pm. TT Links who supplied our new tables will have a trade stand with a full range of equipment for sale. Admission is free.

The second event is equally exciting as it starts tomorrow (Wednesday) and repeats every week at the same time. It's the arrival of England international Natalie Green to provide coaching and expertise from 1.30pm to9.30pm. Her timetable every week will be as follows:

1.30-3.30pm Session for any adults lucky enough not to be at work !
4-5pm Junior school age coaching
5-6pm Senior school age coaching
6-7.30pm Beginner and intermediate standard BATTS club players
7.30-9.30pm Elite session for top juniors and adults

Please try and be involved as Wednesday is now the major day in the BATTS calendar. Friday club night of course continues from 7pm as normal.

Finally the training course at BATTS to be led by Commonwealth gold medallist Gareth Herbert on 31st Jan and 1st Feb is just about full up so you need to be very quick if you want to grab a place.

Hope to see you Wednesday or Sunday.

Best wishes

Neil Brierley
